I'm not looking for cheap gas. I'm looking for national security by not
putting all of America's oil supply in the hands of a score of countries
that hate us.
And offshore drilling is only one aspect of the overall plan. Wind,
solar, hydro, nuclear, oil shale, ANWR-- all those things together will
go a *long* way toward breaking the OPEC stranglehold. And when OPEC's
biggest customer regains the ability to say "fuck you", it will weaken
their overall position in the world market, which will result in a
compensatory increase in production, and *that* will indeed result in a
price drop.
