The ONE thing would be the computer. With that, I have entertainment,
communication, education, and information. Then I could live without
the stereo and the TV and Playstation 2, and never needed a separate
DVD. (Though when we had our electricity emergency crisis here, I
lived just fine for a couple of months without the stereo, TV, and
PS2. The TV isn't hooked up to cable or even local anyway; it's just a
receiver for the PS2. But I couldn't give up my computer....)
First runner-up would be the microwave. But between microwave and
computer? I choose the computer. In order to keep that, heck yeah,
I'll learn to cook over an open flame before I lose it! <LOL>
And not exactly in keeping with the thread, but kinda bouncing off it,
little interesting thing. I watched a movie last night from 1958 (The
Blob) and these kids were grousing about being pulled out of a movie
theater and wasting their admission fee of ... get this ... EIGHTY
CENTS!!!! <sigh> I wasn't even alive when movie tickets were 80 cents.
